Segment One: Rosy Simas Dance Projects Choreographer and dancer Rosy Simas created "Have Gun Will Shoot," a performance that combines dance, improvisation, multimedia, and basic training to explore ideas about women in the military, patriotism, and the transformation of people into killers. Access to Art correspondent John Akre talked to the performers about this piece during a recent run at the Ritz Theatre.

Segment Two: Mizna is an Arab American arts organization that produces a literary journal as well as puts on the annual Arab Film Festival and offers Arabic classes. Access to Art correspondent Beth Peloff attended the release party for the latest issue of their journal MIzna which dealt with the topic of the Isreali invasion of Lebanon last summer.


Segment Three: Theater Garage was started in the late '80's by an actor who also worked in real estate. The goal was to serve as a venue for the many local theater companies who did not have their own space. Since then many local companies have performed in the space. Access to Art Correspondent Carrie Volk talked to the owner of Theater Garage and attended a recent show there by the Burning House Group

Segment Four: Spout Press is an all-volunteer-run literary press dedicated to publishing experimental and regional writing. Access to Art correspondent Megan Cullen attended an event at the Nomad World Pub promoting the release of their latest book: Lush: A Poetry Anthology and Cocktail Guide.
